Nico Marlet Studies
I've never actually used markers before in my sketchbook, I never really have the right colors and value to get something "illustrative." Here are some attempts at Nico Marlet style. Character designs are copyright Nico Marlet and/or Dreamworks.
Oops!
Yikes! I accidentally deleted all the photos from my blogpost >< Bare with me while I try to update my blog

Claire Wendling Study
This illustration posted is copyrighted Claire Wendling from Iguana Bay 2.0 but I do want to share my notes made on this copy.
Basically it says:
Claire pushes the pose but uses the "same" shapes. They are similar shapes from rough to finish but the finishing lines change the shape slightly. The final lines add appeal and charm to the illustration with the use of straights against curves. This is more obvious in the human than the cat."
Even the tree lines are changed to excenuate the rythm of curves (the trunk) against straight (her accented right leg).

Blue Jay
Blue Jay, I really enjoyed the painting for this illustration without all the lines so I wanted to post what my digital paint looks like when I just slap on color.
